Overseas Applicants

Congratulations!  You have made the decision to apply to Canada’s Best Nanny Agency.  In fact, Diamond has been voted the Best Nanny Agency again for 2010.  You are now one step closer to your journey to Canada.

Diamond Personnel does not charge any fees to our caregivers.  Our employers pay all recruitment fees and transportations costs to Canada.

Since 1992, the staff of Diamond have been travelling abroad to recruit caregivers for our Canadian families.  Since 1997, Hong Kong has been our primary source of overseas exceptional nannies with superb training and experience.  Diamond Personnel staff conducts personal interviews with our applicants abroad.

When you apply to become a Diamond applicant, you will be asked to fill out an application telling us about your experience, education, training and skills.  You will be interviewed personally by one of our staff.  If we determine that you are a qualified candidate, we will work quickly and efficiently to find you a Canadian employer that is looking for your skills and personality.  Once we find you a match, you will be assisted every step of the way.

Diamond families need exceptional caregivers.  We require our nannies to present current (within the last 12 months) first aid and CPR training certificates.  We also expect our nannies to have successfully completed a caregiver training program.  In Hong Kong, you may take these programs through a recognized Canadian Caregiver Training Institute.  The skills you learn through these programs will give you the confidence and knowledge to be the best you can be in your new job in Canada.  Your training must be completed within the last 12 months.  You will also be required to take a free online personality screen. The results will provide us with information that will help us place you successfully with a family that matches your values and personality.

Diamond will provide you with a positive Labour Market Opinion and an employment contract from your sponsoring employer.  You will be given instructions to file your application with the Canadian Consulate.  You will also be required to undergo a complete medical screening and provide police clearances and references in order to obtain a visa to work in Canada.

Once you have been issued a visa to travel to Canada, Diamond will coordinate your flights and your arrival with your employer.

Upon arrival, you will be offered ongoing support and encouragement.  You will also be invited to social events and will be given the opportunity to become a volunteer for the Nanny Angel Network.  This is a great opportunity for you to meet other nannies and to give a little something back to the community as a volunteer professional caregiver.
