  • Provide truthful, accurate information regarding all aspects of your application.
  • Keep all information provided about employers and their families strictly confidential without sharing this information with friends and family. 
  • Arrive on time for interviews.
  • Cancel appointments due to illness or emergency only by calling the employer directly and re-scheduling in a timely fashion.
  • Contact Diamond Personnel within one hour of the interview to provide feedback. 
  • Be accessible by phone, since a lack of contact will result in lost opportunities.
  • Provide contact information on all past employers so employment may be verified.
  • Provide proof of eligibility to legally work in Canada including work permits, landed status documents, picture ID and other certificates that will support your educational or vocational background.

What kind of experience do I need as a Diamond Personnel candidate?

We require our candidates to have at least 1 year of in-home experience. You must be located in and legally eligible to work in Canada (No-Sponsorship) and you must have verifiable references. We welcome new applicants, however Diamond Personnel maintains that only those considered truly exceptional will be represented.

What documents do I need when I apply for a position with Diamond Personnel?

When applying, you will need to provide valid photo ID (i.e. a passport, or driver’s license, Drivers Abstract if appplicable), proof that you are legally eligible to work in Canada (i.e. open work permit, PR or proof of Citizenship), and any educational documents and letters of reference that will help us represent you.

You will be asked to fill out an online application if you have not already done so. For this you will need your contact information, employment history and phone numbers of your references. 

What kind of support can I expect from Diamond Personnel when I am placed with a family/household?

At Diamond our goal is to place you in a home where you will feel welcome. We always listen carefully to what your job expectations are and search for families that will best match your unique abilities. Once you are placed we will follow up with you to see how you are adjusting to your new job, and are always available to answer any questions you might have. If there is something you are concerned about, please do not hesitate to contact us, as we will do our best to help you.

How long does it take to find an employer?

We will do our best to place you in a job that meets your expectations. We will not waste your time, or send you on inappropriate interviews. We are constantly working to match candidates with wonderful families and will be in touch with you as soon as we find the best position for you. You must ensure that you are available by phone if you are actively searching for a job. It is difficult to say how long it will take. Much depends on your flexibility and desire to be placed quickly.

Do you charge candidates a fee to apply for a position?

Diamond Personnel does not charge any fees to our candidates. We only ask that you are truthful and provide us with as much information as possible regarding your past work experiences, which will help us find you the perfect employer. You will be required to obtain a valid police clearance, first aid/CPR certification and Driver's Abstract (if applicable). Employers are required to pay all other recruitment costs.

As a candidate, what if I’m not happy with my placement?

Communication is crucial to ensuring job satisfaction. Your employer will not know if something is bothering you if you do not communicate with him/her. We at Diamond are always available to help you resolve any issues that might arise. Making things work is a sign of maturity. We expect you to do your best to work things out. If you cannot resolve the issues with your employer we ask that you give the appropriate notice.
